OCBC Flash Deal

I have always thought that when it comes to shopping, using Citibank credit card is always the better choice as many retailers offers some discounts for only Citibank credit card users.

But I just realized OCBC credit card isn’t so bad either.

See, once every month OCBC will text us about a flash deal that is going happen the very next day. (That’s why it’s called FLASH deal).

Something like this:

For March, it was Zara; April was Cotton On; May was H&M and this month is Dorothy Perkins.

A flash deal usually happens on a Saturday and lasts for only 2 hours (usually 2pm – 4pm). By using OCBC credit card to pay your bills, you will get 50% off for your first RM200 purchase. Extra 10% more for OCBC Titanium Pink Card holders.

So last Saturday when I was in Sunway Pyramid, I decided to look for some dresses in Dorothy Perkins because why not, after all I will get 60% off my bill.

It was my first time going to this flash deal thing so I asked the cashier about the details before I started shopping. She confirmed with me that the promotion is available in this outlet and that I will get 50%+10% off my WHOLE bill, with minimum of RM200 purchase.

An auntie overheard our conversation and asked if she can purchase with my credit card and she will pay me back with cash. I thought why not since I got discount off my WHOLE bill, might as well utilize it. I said okay and off she dashed to withdraw some more cash before she shopped.

As I was going through some clothes, an uncle approached me. Just when I thought he might also wanted to pay his bill using my card to get the discount, he told me that the discount is only for the FIRST RM200 of the bill. And that we don’t get the discount right away at the counter; it will be refunded by OCBC at the end of the month when you get your statement. So he notified me before I pay the auntie’s bill using my card since she won’t be getting the 60% discount after RM200 and i would end up paying for her instead.

He practically saved my life lo!

When I finally found the auntie to tell her the news, a small bundle was already in her arms as she frantically searching for clothes. :0

If the uncle didn’t notify me about the condition for the discount, I would have ended up paying 60% of the auntie’s shopping haul! And judging by the amount she was going to buy, it would kills me!

The dresses I bought from Dorothy Perkins! J
(some altering aka shortening needed for the blue dress >.<)

Each dress costs around RM100, now I get them at around RM50 each!

Still very excited when I told the bf about this amazing deal I got: 50% + 10% (OCBC pink card) + 10% (member card)

He laughed and said I’m just like his mother, who got all excited over “peng leng jeng” deal, rather over expensive branded stuff lol.

Both are gifts from the boyfriend as reminders for me to always pursue my dreams.

Photography has always been my passion for many years.
I’ve owned some digital cameras before, even got myself into lomography for a while.

But for some reasons I just simply couldn’t bring myself to buy a DSLR.
The last time when I almost bought one, I ended up buying a Lumix semi-pro (which I regretted), and then a Sony NEX.

Since the boyfriend knows it, he thought if I have the passion I should pursue it and learn it properly.

So ta-dah!

I’ve got a Canon 70D.

...and a Pandora camera charm.

Bikini Toppings @ Malacca

This is the only cafe we longed to come back to ever since our first visit on new year eve.

It locates at a less crowded corner of Jonker Street. Somehow, even under a super hot sun, this cafe is quite chilling and windy.

Bikini Toppings serves mainly desserts: Coconut Jelly, Coconut Shake, Ice Cream ...

Coconut Jelly is our favourite! It's the main reason why we wanted to go back so badly. Instead of mixing it with santan (coconut milk) like most jellies do, the jelly is made from coconut juice and flesh.

One Coconut Jelly costs RM5.00.

With such a strategic location and superb Coconut Jelly, we wondered why is Bikini Toppings always empty. We were always the only customers there.

Then we soon found out that their Coconut Shake is a little pricy and not sooo delicious. It's "okay la" only.

You can choose whether to add ice cream into your Coconut Shake, but i'd tell you adding the ice cream makes it tastier.

The Coconut Shake, with or without ice cream, costs RM5.90. (They claimed that if you opt not to add on ice cream, they'll put more coconut flesh for you.)

Original Klebang Coconut Shake only costs RM2.00 with ice cream. You can see how much more pricy is Bikini Toppings. But Klebang Coconut Shake only opens from 12.30pm onwards, and it always has a long queue. So the next time you don't feel like waiting and queueing, you can go to Bikini Toppings instead.

For an easier search of Bikini Toppings, you can try spotting a bikini sexy lady painted on the pillar next to the shop, completed with coconut bra haha.

But now all it was left is a boy with long hair.

Online Shopping Review: Chikibunnie

Ever since i've started working, i try to stay at home on weekends as much as possible. I've had enough with traffic jam, hot sun, sweat, people during weekdays. On weekends, i just want to stay at home with my bed, laptop and face masks.

The only way i can shop is through online shopping, especially in December when i have to buy new outfits for Christmas, New Year and Chinese New Year.

One of the online shops i shopped at was Chikibunnie.

I think i discovered it via Instagram. One of my friends has liked its picture. The pictures of the clothes were so nice! The owner/model was pretty too! (i like looking at pretty girls.)

I really like their styles. Simple yet fashionable.
So i placed my order on 20th December 2013, hoping to wear one of the dresses on Christmas Eve.

The shipping fees was RM6. They had ready stock but one of my orders was fully reserved, so i'll have to wait for 10-14 days. Since i planned to wear the dress on Christmas Eve, i told them they can send me the ready stock first then send me the other one later when they get the stock from suppliers. I didn't mind paying double shipping fees.

They said they are okay with it, told me they will send the available 2 items on Monday once i banked it. So I transferred the money immediately via internet banking and sent them the receipt right away.

Christmas came and gone. I still haven't get my parcel yet. So i sent them a message again on 30th December 2013.

But i still didn't get my parcel after waiting for weeks. I messaged them again on 13th January 2014.

And finally i got my parcel on 18th January 2014. But the promised refund of shipping fees wasn't there. And instead of 3 items, they sent me 2 only. (I've waited for more than 10-14 days, the fully reserved item should be available by now.)

I almost forgot about it and it's March already. CNY is long gone.

By the end of March, it still didn't arrive. The owner promised to refund me the reminding amount.

I replied them my account number and name.
But i still didn't get my refund until 19th April 2014, i reminded them again.
And this time she immediately transfer back RM44 to me.

Finally. After 4 months of waiting.

Out of 3 items, 2 arrived.

1) One of them is this Black and White Crotchet Dress, costs RM45.

The material doesn't feel nice, kinda feel like the kind of clothes we found in Times Square. The zipper wasn't working too well either. And the worst part is, THE DRESS IS SEE-THROUGH!

The white part of the dress is totally see-through under sunlight. Two pads are visible since they were sewn inside.  -.-

2) The second one i bought is the Double Straps Black Top, costs RM28.

The material is cotton, which makes the top more like a Double Straps Singlet

Will i buy from them again?

Customer Service:
Very bad indeed. I received my parcel one month later, instead of the promised 2 days (ready stock), or 10-14 days (pre order stock). The pre order stock never arrived btw. But she did refund me the balance, though i have to wait 4 months for it.

Clothes Quality:
Feels like stock we found in Times Square, selling RM25 per piece.
